The final round of the X-Trial FIM Women's Trophy crowns Abellán despite her third-place finish
Andrea Sofia Rabino (Beta) claimed her first-ever win in the X-Trial FIM Women’s Trophy during the last event of the season, held today at the Unibet Arena in Tallinn. Meanwhile, Spain’s Berta Abellán (Scorpa) was crowned the overall winner of the trophy despite finishing third in this third and final round, having won the first two events in Barcelona and Stavanger.
A five-point penalty in the second section of the First Round saw Abellán drop down the standings, while Rabino delivered a composed ride to take the top spot without incurring any penalty points. She was followed by Naomí Monnier (Beta) with three points, Abellán with five, Alice Minta (Beta) with six, Huldevorg Barkved (TRRS) with eight, and Keit Meier (TRRS) with nine.
The Second Round saw all top three riders pick up one penalty point each, leaving the final standings unchanged from the First Round.
Berta Abellán ends the competition with 52 points, securing the title with a five-point lead over Rabino’s 47. Denisa Pechakova, who did not participate in this round, still managed to finish third overall, tied on 27 points with Naomí Monnier.
Berta Abellán (Winner of the first X-Trial FIM Women’s Trophy): “Today’s event was quite tough, because in this discipline, one mistake can cost you dearly—and that’s exactly what happened to me. I didn’t feel completely comfortable. I’m happy to have won the title, but not entirely satisfied with how things went today.”
