Dufrese, Hemingway and Gandola will join the 2025 Championship in Chambéry

Riders competing in the second round of the season announced

The second round of the FIM X-Trial World Championship will take place at Le Pahre in Chambéry on January 11th at 18:30 (local time) and will mark the world debut of 18-year-old British rider Harry Hemingway (Beta) and 24-year-old Italian Lorenzo Gandola (Beta), as well as the return of French rider Hugo Dufrese (Beta), who will ride in his fourth event in the Championship after competing in two events last season and another in 2023. Both riders will join five others who already participated in the season opener at the Palacio Vistalegre in Madrid.

The two debutants in the FIM X-Trial World Championship clearly demonstrate the promoter's commitment to promoting young talents in this sport. Hemingway was the Trial3 World Champion and is the current British indoor champion, having competed in international events such as Sheffield and Toulouse. Meanwhile, Gandola currently holds the Italian indoor trial title and, like Hemingway, is looking to be a member of the world elite.

For Dufrese, this will be his fourth world championship event. Last season, he took part in the events in Chalon-sur-Saône and Tallinn and one year before, in 2023, he made his debut in the X-Trial Vendée.

The three riders making their Championship debut in 2025 will join five who already competed in Madrid on December 21st. These include the season's first winner Jaime Busto (GasGas), 18-time World Champion Toni Bou (Repsol Honda Trial Team), and four-time World Champion Adam Raga (Sherco), who occupied the podium positions, alongside with French rider Benoit Bincaz (Sherco), who ended up competing with Raga for third place in a tiebreaker after finishing the final tied on points, and Gabriel Marcelli (Repsol Honda Trial Team), who narrowly missed out on the final in the Spanish capital.
